Aisuru (愛する, あいする) “to love”

Aisuru (愛する, あいする) – “to love” – and its noun counterpart ai (愛, あい) –“love” – are both written expressions. They belong to the register of literature, essays, and formal prose rather than everyday speech.
That does not mean the verb is absent from spoken Japanese. Some young lovers do say:
Aishite-iru yo.
愛しているよ。
I love you. (men’s speech)
Aishite-iru wa.
愛しているわ。
I love you. (women’s speech)
The more conversational route is with suki (好き, すき), which as an adjective expresses fondness and, in the right context, love:
Kimi ga suki da.
君が好きだ。
I love you. (men’s speech)
Anata ga suki yo.
あなたが好きよ。
I love you. (women’s speech)
